Sometimes I wonder why I don’t work for Target. Like as a brand ambassador or something. I spend so much of my time and money at Target, I feel like I’ve earned it. C’mon Target.
OK, well, until they ask me to curate a fashion or home collection for them I’m going to share my picks here on the blog.
As we are living through a pandemic, I’m shopping less in general and limiting my outings to specific stores. Target, being the one stop shop that it is, has truly fed my desire for the occasional pick me up. Specifically when I want a new piece of clothing that I absolutely don’t need. Target fashion is my guilty pleasure.
Let’s start with this Who What Wear mock neck. I thought the tight ribbed fabric might be unflattering but it actually fits well and looks pretty good. No major bulging. The puff sleeves are a nice on-trend detail but they aren’t so big that you look like a line-backer. I also like the heathered fabric which softens the look.
I think I have bought 5 new sweaters from Target in the past month. Not because I need them but because they are so dang cute and affordable. Target has several in house brands to meet the needs of every fashionista, price point, style and all. I tend to gravitate towards labels Who What Wear, Universal Threads and A New Day but I have also grabbed a few goodies from the teen/young adult line, Wild Fable. Wait, that’s basically all of their brands.
Here’s a selection of my Fall/Winter 2020 fashion picks from Target. Click images to shop.
I’m totally into this gorgeous hot pink sweater from Who What Wear which is not for the faint-hearted. The cable knit sleeves and bright color make this pullover striking. You’ll definitely stand out in a crowd. Here I come!
I picked up this 80’s inspired sweater from the A New Day collection in both oatmeal and black. The subtle woven pattern and texture make this sweater interesting. You can fancy it up with a pendant necklace or if you want to be really edgy you can wear it will peeling nail polish like me.
This ridiculously cozy turtle neck was the surprise of the bunch. It seems so basic but the olive green is such a rich color and the fabric is not itchy at all which is always a concern with turtlenecks. It comes in several colors. It’s a nice length and simple enough to throw on with jeans, or maybe some leather pants. It would also be cute with a printed midi skirt and boots.
I love the print of this blouse but I definitely have to be in the mood for the mega sleeves. This is a confusing trend for me. I love bold sleeves in theory but I am not convinced I can pull them off. The leopard spot pants and printed blouse are both from the Who What Wear collection. The top would be cute with a pair of old Levis or a black skirt as well.
I’ll preface my comments here by telling you that I am not a sweater dress kind of gal but the color of this one caught my eye. I threw it on with a couple of necklaces and my tall cognac boots but in reality I might style this a little differently. The dress is super cozy and I like that it’s not body hugging. I might wear this over leggings with a pair of leg-warmers and clogs or with the boot pictured without bare legs. Maybe a thick pair of tights or faux leather legging? To make the look more pulled together I would throw on a belt but it still looks cute unbelted.
While we are on the topic of what I don’t typically wear, let’s talk about sweats. I gave in and bought a pair of cozy fleece sweatpants which no surprise, are from Target. To shop, click here. I figured if I’m spending so much time at home over the winter it’s probably OK. No one will see me. I don’t know what my hang up is about sweatpants because they are really comfortable. I guess I’ve just never considered them stylish. I also grabbed the Wild Fable cropped sweatshirt pictured above which I have worn many times around the house and while out running errands. I like the cropped length and the hot pink ties. It was an impulse grab but I have worn it a lot. For $18 I’ve already gotten my money’s worth. Thanks again Target.
Ok, back to drama. I grabbed this ruffly piece of magic knowing that it may be over the top with all the volume but it actually gives just enough flair while still being wearable. It’s a lot of sleeve and ruffle but sometimes that’s what we need! I also like the wine color which is quite versatile. Sorry friends, it looks like this may be sold out online but it is still available in select stores. Also comes in ivory. From the Prologue collection.
Look it’s not a top! I was drawn to this printed dress because of the lilac backdrop. I love the print, the sleeve shape and the hemline. I was surprised by how much I liked the fit of the dress. It is a flowing maxi dress but still has structure. Be warned, there is no stretch. This would be great to wear a wedding, party, church, dinner date, gallery opening, brunch, the list goes on. I would wear it with tall boots, pumps or sandals in the spring. It may sound crazy but I would also wear it with sneakers or my checkered vans slides cause I’m funky like that.
HELLO! Big sleeves. Big Fun. I snagged this beauty from the clearance rack. I thew it on with a belt to create a more fitted look and put on my MAC, Ruby Woo lipstick for an all out red look. This is a really fun blouse.
OK, let me tell you how excited I was to find these cords. They are a gorgeous deep green color (can you tell?) AND they are cut long so they actually worked for me. I tend to have issues with regular inseams being too short for me and ‘long’ being too long. These are basically perfect. I love the high rise, the flare leg, the color, everything about these pants. There were a total score. Also a clearance rack find since they were an online only item returned in-store. I like how the printed flowing top looks with them. Both pieces are from A New Day. Belt is mine from years ago but any wide belt would do. These cords would also look great with a big cozy sweater.
I’ve been looking for a vivid purple sweater and I couldn’t pass this one up. With a holiday promotion of 30% off sweaters it was only $14. Woohoo!
The color of this dress is amazing. It is a stunning rich, deep teal. Aside from the beautiful color, and the easy fit, this dress has pockets! Pockets I tell you! There is no beating a dress with pockets. I would wear this with sandals and fun dangling earrings (like the ones I made in the picture!) or with boots in the fall. I like the free flowing style but a belt would also be cute with this dress. By A New Day.
I’ve never really embraced the jumpsuit trend. I like the way they look on some people and I have tried to wear them but usually end up feeling like a gas station attendant. But then, this rusty little gem peered out at me from the clearance rack. Have you gathered by now that the Clearance rack is where it’s at? This was another online only item returned to store but you can still buy it online. I love the color and just a flip of the color make this feel chic. By Universal Thread. Many other colors available Including pink and blue denim. Get on it!

I admired these high-waisted paper bag pants for weeks because I love the rich olive color but I was convinced that because of the length, they would look bad on me. You can judge for yourself, but I actually kind of like them with my zodiac graphic T (from Target of course) and my Vans. You can totally wear these with ankle boots and a cropped sweater for a more tailored and high fashion look but I’m feeling the skater girl vibe some days and these fit right in with that. You could also pair these with sandals and a flowing top tucked in for spring. Basically these are all-season pants.
Being an adolescent and teen in the 80’s, this MTV graphic grabbed me. This sweatshirt is super soft inside. Though it may be an around the house kind of item, I still think it’s cute and it was only $8.99 I can handle that. Clearance rack strikes again.
So, there you have it. I hope you like my picks. I’ve linked to items or similar products through images. I know it’s frustrating when you want the exact item from the picture but unfortunately some pieces are sold out. I have found replacement ideas in those cases. Prices may be different depending on where you live and whether you buy in-store or online. If you take one thing away from this I hope it is to dig through the sale rack. Happy hunting and thanks, Target for all the good times and good finds!

I seriously wish we had a Target here in the UK. I would loveeeeee to visit just for a shopping spree! These finds are beautiful!
That’s how I feel about so many UK outposts. Topshop, Asda, Selfridge’s, and more! It does make it more special when I get to go there since it’s such a novelty. You should plan a trip to the states and shop your heart out. Also, no one else will have the cool stuff you do when you go back home;)
