After Instagram teasers for weeks, I’ve finally gotten my Target picks up and ready for you to peruse and shop. The photoshoots always hold me up! Though lots of fun, they are time consuming. That and just when I think I’m done, I discover more great pieces that I want to share with you!
As previously stated, Target fashion is my guilty pleasure. I try not to acquire clothing at a rate that doesn’t correlate with my lifestyle ( I mean one person only needs so many garments) but I do indulge every so often and Target price tags make new closet additions hard to resist!
Full disclosure, I don’t keep everything that comes home with me after a Target run. That would be excessive. The that good thing about the dressing rooms being closed right now is that I can bring a bunch of items home to try and get a better sense of whether or not what I have picked will blend with my current wardrobe. My at home try-on sessions always end with a “yes” pile and a, “cute, but not for me” pile.
I would love to know what pieces or looks you like and if you have scored any great pieces at the all mighty Target recently.
Look 1
Cut out black and cream floral dress from Who What Wear. Still trying to figure out the brassiere situation but other than that, I love this dress. It’s fun and flirty but still feels sophisticated.
Look 2
Checkers, anyone? I threw this dress on with my Lulu Guinuess scarf (bandana-style) and my Vans for a funky cowgirl look. If you haven’t noticed already, gingham is a huge trend right now. This was fun to style but I’m on the fence about keeping it.
LOOK 3
Not sure if this qualifies and a ‘look’, but here’s a $20 voluminous sleeves-voile top with a pair of Levis. The Levis are actually from Target. I found them in the mens department. I like the wash and back pocket size better that the ones in women’s section. These have a more vintage Levi’s feel and fit.
LOOK 4
This dress was a pleasant surprise! I thought maybe it was going to be too much for me because of the print and the length but it’s a keeper. You may have seen my reel where I styled it for both fall and spring. If you missed it, this dress is cute with a jacket and boots or sandals. It has an adjustable tie waist and ruffles on the sleeves. I rolled them up part way for the second look. In the first shot, I wore a long white strand of beads and little bow (peep) satin hair clips à la Simone Rocha. The clips are a two pack from Wild Fable.
LOOK 5
There are a couple of overlapping looks below. I decided to intermix a few pieces that I thought would work well together starting with this dress. It was kind of a thumbs down for me initially because of the shapeless silhouette but after playing around a little I came up with a look that I like. It is very comfortable and has pockets!
Look 5 A & B
I changed the shoes and earrings, belted it and pulled my hair up in a ponytail. Et voila! A totally different feel.
LOOK 6
I paired this Wild Fable pointelle henley with A New Day tie waist shorts. I really like this color combo! The terra cotta and muted lilac work well together. I’m wearing my Sorel gladiator sandals because I like a nice sturdy stylish sandal (SSS) for my long city walks.
LOOK 6
A short suit! What the wha?? The jacket and shorts are NOT merchandised together but they just happen to be made from the same fabric so I thought, Why not? This little outfit could work for a casual work environment or crisp summer evening. You might recognize that flutter sleeve blouse…
A pair of heeled sandals, sneakers or wedges could work with this look depending on what vibe your going for.
LOOK 7
I’m totally into the pink and purple together. The sweatshirt is great to throw on for a little pop of color with just about anything. The purple acid wash shorts are clearly a trend item but they could work with a few things. Think flowing printed blouse or graphic t-shirt. I added a pair of gold earrings and a stack of bracelets just for fun.
LOOK 8/9/10
One dress three prints! This fabulous 100% cotton is only $25 and comes in multiple prints and colors. I do not need all three but I may keep them anyway! This is one of those no brainer items. I did a reel on these where you can see them with different footwear options.
Look 11
OK, so I was done with this post and then I saw this top so it’s a last minute addition. I did not have high hopes because of the cut but I actually really love it!
OK people that’s a wrap (for now)! You know there is going to be a Target 3.0 post in the future because as long as they keep churning out the fashion hits I’ll be bringing them home. One day – I will do independent styling for Target. OK universe? Just putting it out there;)
