Welcome!
Fiona Finds is a space I have created to share my discoveries, recommendations, and musings. It’s a curated collection of my interests, inspirations and information, mostly related to fashion, travel, and design that I want to share with you. Sometimes I just journal to get things out of my head and into the open. You’ll encounter the occasional philosophical post or personal essay but mostly I like to keep it cheery with useful information and dose of good humor.
Though my thoughts, goals, and, desires are ever-evolving there are a few constants. I thrive on combining the unexpected, using pro tips to get the most out of your money and converting inspiration into something tangible. I shop, travel and live frugally despite my expensive taste and believe that you can’t put a price tag on style.
Want to know more? Here’s a little about moi.
I am half Scottish and half Indian. Having been raised in New York City by immigrant parents I did not have a typical American upbringing, if such a thing exists. I grew up in the greatest, most diverse city in the world and lived in a multicultural home with my loving parents and two older sisters. My experiences have and continue to define my outlook, preferences and goals in life.
I attended an elite private school (think Gossip Girl) followed by a small state art college (not at all like Gossip Girl) where I graduated as a literature major. I worked in the fashion industry for many years after college and then returned to school in my early thirties to study interior design at The Fashion Institute of Technology. I’ve had several businesses over the years. Designing and hand-making jewelry, opening an online children’s lifestyle boutique and establishing a fashion and interiors styling business as well as doing freelance copy writing. Lotsa things. Fiona Finds is where my interests and experience collide.
If I can offer an escape, drop some knowledge or give guidance in creating a beautiful home by offering designs and decorating ideas, helping you to find stylish clothing, share travel where to’s, offer great recipes, hot tips and hacks then I’ve done my job. Thanks for stopping by.
