Wondering what I want right now? Look no further. You won’t find a traditional gift guide here. I’m not going to tell you what to get for your partner, nanny, assistant, aunt, book club member, local librarian, or whoever else is on your list. I’m going to tell you what I am coveting this year and hopefully give you ideas for yourself and those you are shopping for. I know you’ve got places to go and things to buy so without further ado, here is my 2020 gift guide. Shop, gift and, celebrate the season in good health.

- Brooklinen Mulberry silk pillowcase. Who knew a pillowcase could be a beauty product? Lots of people I guess! Are you curious why you might want a silk pillowcase? Check this out.
- Cocktail subscription. Cocktail Courier or American Cocktail Club are great options. Lots of people are crafting cocktails at home and what better way to get introduced to new flavors and have the resources sent directly to you? Genius. Sign me up!
- Cute pencils. I love writing with a nice sharp pencil and this set from Rifle Paper Co. would look great in a pencil cup on my desk.
- Though it can be spendy, perfume is a lovely gift. One of my favorites is Oud Palao by Diptique. If you’re gifting perfume make sure you are buying something you know the person likes. Scents are so personal. You don’t want to get it wrong.
- The best part of Emily in Paris was discovering this vintage camera Iphone case. Ok, fine, I admit it. Despite being fluffy and totally unrealistic I enjoyed the show. I like that this case is 3-D and has a lanyard but if you want a flat case this one from Casetify is great looking. Make sure you get the right size!
- A matching headband and face mask set is a fun and timely gift.
- Masterclass subscription. My sister just got this for me and I am so excited. Something to teach and entertain for an entire year.
- I need a new cheese board and this slate one is just right. A practical and not too stylized addition for any cheese lover’s kitchen.
- A patterned hair towel is a fun, useful, and affordable gift, and good for traveling.
- These furry slides are perfect for jotting outside in the wintertime to turn off holiday lights, grab the mail or take out the trash. I usually slip on my Birkenstocks for these chores but I love this fun and cozy winter alternative. I found these super cheap in a sea of overpriced fur sandals.
- A beautiful coffee table book is a fantastic gift for those who appreciate art, fashion, and design. The Parisians and The Art of The Interior are both gorgeous interior design books on my wishlist.
- Though admittedly my sleep has improved with some new habits, this sunrise alarm clock with white noise from hatch is intriguing. Also, it’s very pretty. I’m a sucker for aesthetics.
- I want a candle for my office that had a subtle, calming scent and is packaged well. Candles in general are good gifts but I’m coveting one from Flamingo Estate. These are available in Minneapolis at Mille a store filled with amazing and beautiful things!
- Glassware is another useful gift where you can personalize style based on the recipient. I personally love these delicate coupe glasses.
- A magazine subscription is another way to stretch your giving throughout the year. A travel magazine would be perfect for those longing to travel, like me! It seems like a good way to get ideas and start planning for the future. “Afar is a publication focused on experiential travel. The company also operates a non-profit foundation providing scholarships for educational journeys for students.” CN Traveler and Yolo Journal are others I would love to receive.
- Iphone mini. Really there is no explanation needed. I need a new phone and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
- This one is tricky. I love this bag. It’s quirky, a great size, and not expensive and it will most certainly not be on everyone’s wishlist. If you gift someone a great bag, wallet, dress, or whatever from a shop they love just include a gift receipt, and don’t be offended if they exchange your gift. It can be fun to pick out what you think someone will like but you can’t (and shouldn’t) try to control what they do with it!
- A pricey but amazing gift for someone who loves to cook. A high-quality enamel cast iron cocotte is something every home cook should have. I love the color range from Staub x Food 52.
- OK, OK, I know a faux diamond septum ring is not something your average person wants but jewelry is usually appreciated. You know I make jewelry, right!? But seriously, jewelry makes a great gift. It doesn’t have to be from Tiffany and Co. In fact, supporting small jewelry designers is preferable. Etsy is the perfect resource for unique gifts made by independent artists and designers.
- Last but not least, Beautiful handmade soap. I love Saipua soaps not only for the scents but also for the packaging. I have one sitting in my office and I just like looking at it! Very simple and elegant.
Ok People that’s it! I hope you’ve gotten some good ideas here. Please share your thoughts. Just a reminder that the greatest gift of all is a gift receipt. Have fun selecting something personal for your recipients but let them have the final say in choosing what will bring them joy. That’s the goal, right?
Happy gifting and remember to think about our planet when you wrap. Reuse things like paper grocery bags and packing paper to cut down on waste. Little springs of green and twine will fancy up any package!

Ohhh I might need the coffee table book for myself!
It’s such a good one.
